Forty-Seven of the Nation's Top Female Players Invited to Camp

CALGARY, Alta. – Senior Kati Tabin has been invited to Hockey Canada's BFL National Women's Team Fall Festival for a second year in a row, as announced by Hockey Canada on Tuesday, Aug. 27. The camp is set for Sept. 9-15 in Liverpool, N.S.
Tabin is one of 47 players that were invited to the week-long camp in Nova Scotia. The athletes will be split up into two groups that will play four games, two intrasquad and two against junior hockey clubs in the area, in addition to practices and off-ice sessions. Twenty-two of the players who won bronze at the IIHF Women's World Championship in Finland will make up part of the roster. The roster is also made up of eight current players coming from ECAC teams and six from the WCHA.
The BFL National Women's Team Fall Festival aims to help develop and evaluate Canada's top female players. Hockey Canada will use this training opportunity to help select the roster for the 2020 IIHF Women's World Championships, which will be played Halifax and Truuo, N.S.
Gina Kingsbury (Rouyn-Noranda, Que.), Hockey Canada's director of women's national teams, and with Melody Davidson (Oyen, Alta.), Hockey Canada's head scout for women's national teams made the player selections.
Tabin concluded her junior season as Quinnipiac's leading defensive scorer with 13 points on four goals and nine assits.
