Bobcats Look to Win Fourth Straight Meet to Close out 2019 Regular Season

HAMDEN, Conn. – The No. 4 Quinnipiac acrobatics and tumbling team is back home for the final meet of the 2019 regular season as the Bobcats host the Alderson Broaddus Battlers Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the People's United Center.
Scouting Alderson Broaddus
The Battlers come into Saturday with a 4-3 record but are 0-2 against ECAC teams. Alderson Broaddus comes into the meet with wins in the last two meets back in Philippi, West Virginia against East Texas Baptist and West Virginia Wesleyan. The Battlers scored a season-high 267.425 points on March 9 despite a loss at Converse.
All-Time vs. Alderson Broaddus
Quinnipiac is 7-0 all-time against Alderson Broaddus dating back to the 2014 season. Last season, Quinnipiac traveled to Philippi, West Virginia to play the Battlers and came away with a 280.235-264.990 victory in the second meet of the season in dominating fashion.
Last Time Out
The Bobcats won their third straight meet with a victory at No. 8 Gannon on Saturday, defeating the Golden Knights 276.590-270.950, and picked up six heat highs, two event highs and recorded its most points in a meet this season.
Weekly Awards
Asia Johnson was named the ECAC Rookie of the Week on Friday afternoon as she earned her first career weekly award. Johnson is Quinnipiac's eighth total ECAC weekly award this season and seventh different athlete to earn the award.
Pyramid Prowess
Quinnipiac was particular dominant in the pyramid event at Gannon on Saturday as the Bobcats won all three heats and took the event. The Bobcats recorded a season-best 9.95 in the inverted pyramid heat before recording a season-best 9.95 in the synchronized pyramid heat. The Bobcats also had a 9.75 in the open pyramid to round off the season-best score of 29.35 in the event.
Tumbling to Victory
Melanie Mancini continues to be one of the top tumblers on the team this season as she switched to the six-element tumbling pass and recorded the Bobcats best score of the season with a 9.700, surpassing Cassidy Osher's 9.625 from the win over West Liberty. Mancini has now been part of three of Quinnipiac's highest tumbling scores individually, and in three different events.
Team Totals
Quinnipiac continued to do well in the team event as the Bobcats increased to a season-best score of 96.59 in the event, up nearly two points from the Bobcats win at King. Quinnipiac has increased its total in the team event each meet this season.

Quinnipiac rides a three-meet winning streak into the final meet of the 2019 regular season, and the Bobcats look to push that number to four heading into the NCATA National Championships at the end of the month. Quinnipiac has recorded a higher score in each meet this season, topped by last week's 276.590 in the win over Gannon.
