Bobcats Clinch No. 2 Seed in 2019 MAAC Tournament

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Quinnipiac men's lacrosse clinched the No. 2 seed in the 2019 MAAC Tournament, topping Manhattan in the regular-season finale, 15-9, on Saturday afternoon at Gaelic Park.

With the win, the Bobcats move to 5-2 in the MAAC. Quinnipiac will enter the 2019 MAAC Tournament as the No. 2 seed. The Bobcats will square off with No. 3 Detroit Mercy on Thursday, May 2 at Tenney Stadium in Poughkeepsie, New York.

HIGHLIGHTS

After the Jaspers scored the game's first goal, the Bobcats scored seven straight times in a 15-minute span. The stretch began with 5:04 left in the first quarter on a Matt Frost goal, then ended with a Jake Tomsik score with 5:08 left in the second.
Five different Quinnipiac players had a multi-goal game in the win. Matt Frost and Mike Fletcher led the way with three goals and two assists each, and Tyler Mackay added a hat trick in the win.
Will Abbott and Foster Cuomo each added two goals and two helpers, and Jake Tomsik chipped in with one goal and one assist.
Quinnipiac outshot Manhattan 43-36, earning a 25-22 advantage in shots on goal.
The Bobcats assisted on 11 of 15 goals. 11 helpers ties a season-best mark for the program.
Quinnipiac won 17-of-26 opportunities in the face-off x, and went 17-of-20 on clear attempts.

NOTES

Matt Frost's hat trick is the second of his career. The other came in a road win over Bellarmine during his freshman year on Feb. 27, 2016.
Tyler Mackay's hat trick is the first of his career. He now has 16 goals this year.
Nick DiMuccio recorded 13 more saves in the win.
The Bobcats are now a perfect 10-0 all-time vs. Manhattan.
