Kuhn Scores Four in Defeat
HAMDEN, Conn. – Senior Allison Kuhn scored four times on Saturday afternoon, but the Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team was defeated by Monmouth, 19-12, in the season finale at the Quinnipiac Lacrosse Stadium.
Kuhn runs her season total to 43 goals and becomes the fourth player in program history to score at least 43 goals in a single season. The loss marks the end of the 2019 season for Quinnipiac, who finishes tied for the final spot in the postseason, but loses a three-way tiebreaker with Canisius and Niagara.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Monmouth opened the game with three unanswered goals, as Jenny Staines, Rachel Mills, and Nicole Ceraso all scored in the first 6:17 of play.
- The Bobcats responded immediately when Brianna Fitzgerald scored twice in under a minute to make it a 3-2 game. Kuhn followed with her first of the game to tie the score at 3-3 with 17:48 remaining in the half.
- Two minutes after Kuhn's goal, Mills notched her second of the day to spark Monmouth's largest run of the afternoon. The Hawks scored seven consecutive goals over a 12-minute span to take a commanding 10-3 lead entering the final three minutes of the half.
- Both teams added a tally in the last two minutes of the period, as Julia Corrice scored for the Bobcats and Chloe Novak responded for the Hawks.
- With its season on the line, Quinnipiac began the second half with four of the first five second-half goals to cut the Monmouth lead to 12-8 with 23:37 remaining.
- Monmouth scored twice to regain a six-goal lead, only for Kuhn to stop the short run with her second tally two minutes later.
- Quinnipiac had a chance to cut the lead to four on a free position, but Monmouth goalkeeper Riley Brager made the stop.
- The save by Brager sparked a four-goal Monmouth run that put the game out of reach in the final 10 minutes.
- The Bobcats scored three of the game's final four goals, cutting the deficit to 19-12, but could not pull off the comeback as time expired.
- The Bobcats were outshot by the Hawks, 30-26 in total, but edged Monmouth, 16-14, in the second half.
- Quinnipiac completed 19 of 20 clear attempts in the contest, including a perfect 9-for-9 in the final period.
- The Hawks narrowly outearned the Bobcats in the circle, winning 18 draw controls to Quinnipiac's 15.
- Both teams caused eight turnovers in the affair, while Monmouth recorded a 13-11 advantage in ground balls.
- Sami Walters started and finished the game, making six saves, but ultimately took the loss. Kelsey relieved her for a brief spell midway through the first half and made one save.
- The loss ends the careers of ten Quinnipiac seniors as Kuhn, Corrice, Walters, Cara O'Meally, Aubrey Conti, Kristen Sobolewski, Alexa Paul, Bianca Kaluta, Jenna Henningsen, and Ellie Swenson all played their final game in navy and gold.
- Kuhn ends her career with 123 goals (fourth all-time), 47 assists (seventh all-time), and 170 points (fifth all-time). Her single season totals of 43 goals and 61 points rank fifth and seventh, respectively, in Quinnipiac's single season record book.
