Bobcats Look to Extend Winning Streak to Three at Golden Knights

HAMDEN, Conn. – The No. 4 Quinnipiac acrobatics and tumbling team travels to Erie, Pennsylvania to take on the No. 8 Gannon Golden Knights on Saturday night for the Bobcats second straight meet against an ECAC opponent.
Scouting Gannon
The Golden Knights come into this meet with a 3-0 record. They have not had a meet since March 2nd when they defeated No. 10 King 270.440-259.865. Gannon won all six events against King for the second consecutive meet. The Golden Knights are 2-0 against teams in the NCATA Top 10, defeating No. 9 Alderson Broaddus and No. 10 King.

Quinnipiac is 6-0 all-time against Gannon. Last season, Quinnipiac faced the Golden Knights twice, winning the first matchup 274.585-271.93 in a tri-meet in Eugene, Ore., and winning the second matchup in Hamden 278.015-276.335.

The Bobcats took down King to win their second consecutive meet, winning 275.285-253.200. Quinnipiac's point total was its highest of the 2019 season. The Bobcats recorded seven season-highs and tied their season-highs in three other events.
Weekly Awards
After the last meet against King, two Bobcats received ECAC player of the week awards. Camren Diaz was named the ECAC Athlete of the Week after winning in all 11 heats that she participated in. Melanie Mancini was named ECAC Specialist of the Week as she was part of three season-highs and tied a season-high.

After posting a 264.775 against Oregon, the Bobcats then improved to 269.675 in their second meet against Baylor. In their third meet against West Liberty, the Bobcats scored 273.430, and in their last meet against King, they scored 275.285.
Toss Up
The Bobcats recorded their best score in the toss event against King, scoring a 9.85. Their previous high was just 9.40. Their 9.85 score was the best improvement of any event that the Bobcats had in their last meet.

In the tumbling event against King, the Bobcats scored a 55.425, up 0.325 from the 55.100 against West Liberty on March 9.
