Baseball Wraps Up Spring Break Trip with 6-5 Win Over Spiders
RICHMOND, Va. – Arthur Correira (Rehoboth, Massachusetts) recorded his first career win with a quality start Sunday afternoon as he led the Quinnipiac baseball team to a 6-5 victory over the Richmond Spiders to wrap up the Bobcats spring break trip.
Correira struck out a career-high eight batters, including two in each of the first three innings, to pick up the victory as he made his third start of the season.
Evan Vulgamore (Bow, New Hampshire) went 2 for 4 as he recorded multiple hits for the fourth consecutive game. He already has nine doubles on the season while compiling a .356 batting average with 21 hits in 59 at bats.
The Bobcats struck for all six runs from the fourth through six innings, answering a pair of runs from the Spiders in the bottom half of the third inning. Quinnipiac now has five wins on the season, and has won at least one game in every weekend series.

FOURTH INNING
- After Richmond took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning, Quinnipiac rebounded three runs in the top of the fourth to take a 3-2 lead
- Maves led off the inning with a single and advanced to a second on a muffed throw
- Huscher reached base on a throwing error by the third baseman to put runners on the corners before LaChance was hit by a pitch to load the bases
- Vulgamore singled through the left side of the infield to drive in Maves and Huscher
- After an Ostberg walk, LaChance came home to score despite Bender grounding into a double play to take the lead
- The Bobcats extended the lead to 4-2 in the sixth as Vulgamore led off the inning with a double down the third base line and stole third before scoring on an Ostberg groundout
- Quinnipiac extended its lead to four runs in the top of the seventh inning.
- Dylan Lutz (Denver, Colorado) led off the inning with a double before Liam Scafariello (Southington, Connecticut) pinch ran for him
- After Maves walked, Huscher reached on another throwing error from a sac bunt that scored Scafariello
- LaChance followed with an RBI groundout to round out the Bobcats scoring
- Head coach John Delaney recorded the 99th win of his career, putting him one win away from becoming just the third Quinnipiac head coach to record 100 career wins
- Vulgamore finished off his hot weekend with his fourth consecutive multi-hit game as he went 2 for 4
- He has doubled in four straight games, five runs in the last four games and four RBIs in that span
- Vulgamore also stole a base for a second straight day and his third in the last four games

- Scafariello scored a run and had a single in his lone plate appearance to give him hits in three straight games
- Marrero singled to record hits in three straight games and now has hits in six of his last seven games
- Quinnipiac returns to Connecticut for their first game in the Nutmeg State as the Bobcats travel to Yale Field to take on the Yale Bulldogs Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
