EDISON, N.J. – Quinnipiac men's soccer first-year forward Tomas Svecula has been selected as the 2019 MAAC Men's Soccer Rookie of the Year, as announced by the conference on Monday, Nov. 11, 2019.
Svecula finished the 2019 season with six goals and four assists for 16 total points – which currently ranks second on the team. He is the second Bobcat to win the league's Rookie of the Year award, as Eamon Whelan earned the honor after scoring 11 goals as a first-year student in 2016.

Quinnipiac has now placed 14 players on the All-MAAC First Team since the program joined the conference seven seasons ago. Whelan is now a three-time First Team honoree, as he scored a team-high nine goals to go along with one helper for 18 points in 2019.
Daniellou added four goals and five assists for 13 points, earning All-MAAC Second Team status for the first time in his collegiate career.
Conor McCoy was also named to the league's Second Team for the first time in his career, as he scored on goal and one assist while helping anchor the Bobcats' defense on the back side. McCoy and Quinnipiac's defensive unit allowed just 13 goals in 10 MAAC matches.
Jared Mazzola played all 941+ minutes at goalkeeper for the Bobcats in 2019, posting a 1.24 goals-against average and a .759 save percentage. Mazzola had three shutouts as a junior this season, making 41 saves.
