ALBANY, N.Y. - First-year Kate Reilly and senior Abbie Ives earned ECAC Weekly Award honors after competition from Nov. 18-24. Reilly was named the ECAC Rookie of the Week, and Ives earned the MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week award, as announced by the league on Monday, Nov. 25.
Reilly was stellar through two games for the Bobcats, recording two goals in a win against St. Lawrence and a tie against No. 5/5 Clarkson. The first-year defenseman scored the game-winner in a 5-0 shutout of the Saints on Friday night. She went +2 in the win and led the team with six shots. Against the Golden Knights, the Bobcats came back after being down 2-0 to tie the game, 2-2, with goals from sophomore Lexie Adzija and Reilly. Reilly recovered the puck in the neutral zone off a poke check, skated into the offensive zone and hit a rocket of a shot past Clarkson's Marie-Pier Coulombe to tie the game. She recorded three shots in the tie and went +2.
Ives went 1-0-1 on the weekend, earning her third shutout of the season. She stopped all 29 shots against St. Lawrence, recording her fourth win of the season. Against the Golden Knights, she made 26 saves with two goals against. Her three shutouts on the season are second-best in the ECAC behind Cornell's Lindsay Browning, who has four this year.
The Bobcats are back in action this weekend to host the 16th Annual Nutmeg Classic. Quinnipiac will take on No. 10/10 Minnesota Duluth on Friday, Nov. 29 at 4 p.m.
