Cross Country Set for 2019 MAAC Championships

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac cross country teams are set to compete in the 2019 MAAC Cross Country Championships. Monmouth University will host the championships in Holmdel, N.J., at Holmdel Park. The women's 6k race begins at 11 a.m. and the men's five-mile race starts at noon.

MAAC Preview
The Iona Gaels have been the team to beat at the MAAC Championships. Iona's men's team has won 29 consecutive championships, and the women's team has tallied four consecutive championships.
The Quinnipiac women's cross country team placed fourth last year at the 2018 MAAC Championships. Senior Kaitlin Bakas led the Bobcats in the women's 6k race with the fastest team finish of 22:28.4 and took 15th overall.
The men's team also took fourth place last year, and senior Michael Kiernan finished in fourth place overall in the men's 8k with a time of 25:24.5.
