David Scrivines is in his fith year leading the Quinnipiac men's cross country program, having been named to the position in the Summer of 2022 and will begin to lead the track and field program upon its resumption during the 2026-27 academic year. The Fall of 2025 marked Scrivines' 29th season coaching cross country. Scrivines comes to Quinnipiac after five years leading the men's and women's cross country teams at Fairfield University.

In 2025, Quinnipiac used another young core to continue the program's upward trajectory, culminating in another standout performance at the MAAC Championships. Sophomore Alex Saldana led the team with a 32nd place finish, with four runners finishing inside the Top 70. The squad knocked off 32 seconds from its average time from 2024 and over two minutes from its 2023 average.

Scrivines' squad also totaled 228 points as a team score, its lowest total since the 2021 meet.

The 2024 campaign saw a young class take hold under Scrivines' leadership, with eight new runners coming into the fold and leading the Bobcats' to their best team performance at the MAAC Championships in six years.

This was led by first-year runner Alex Saldana, who finished 45th at the event, good for the highest finish by a Bobcat runner since the 2019 season when Cameron Starr finished 30th.
During his time at Fairfield, both men's and women's programs showed improvement - both competitively and in the classroom. In addition, Scrivines grew the roster sizes of both programs and turned out teams that consistently achieved GPA's of 3.6 and higher. Prior to Fairfield, Scrivines was the head boys coach at St. Joseph High School in Trumbull from 2000-2016. Scrivines was the head men's and women's coach at the University of Bridgeport from 1998-2000.
Scrivines was a four-year member of the men's cross country team at Springfield College, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sport Management in 1998. He also earned a Master's Degree in School Health Education from Southern Connecticut State University in 2010, along with teaching certificates in both Physical Education and Health Education.
Scrivines is an MLB Scouting Consultant and spent 17 years as Coordinator of Independent League Scouting for the Boston Red Sox (2009-2026). He was responsible for more than 75 player signings and the signing of eight future big league players from the independent leagues. He's also worked as an adjunct Sport Management instructor at Post University, Central Connecticut State University, and Mercy University.

Philosophy: Coach Scrivines strives to provide his student-athletes with a great student-athlete experience of balancing both the academic and athletic aspects of being a Division 1 student-athlete, while also having a great college experience. The Quinnipiac men's team has a strong team culture which values each team member's contributions and seeks to challenge each other in ways to make the team and it's members the best version of themselves that it can be.
