
Women's Hockey Faces Merrimack in Non-Conference Matchup

HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac is set to host the Merrimack College Warriors in a non-confernece game on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. This will be the Bobcats' third game in five days as the Warriors come to Hamden, Conn.
Scouting Merrimack
The Warriors stand at 9-3-2 (6-3-1 Hockey East) overall after dropping two games against #10 Providence on Nov. 16-17. In Hockey East, Merrimack has earned its six wins against Holy Cross, Vermont, Maine and UConn.
Katelyn Rae leads the Warriors with 16 points on 11 goals and five assists and is +10 on the season. Samantha Ridgewell has been the go-to netminder for Merrimack with a .945 save percentage and 1.45 GAA. Ridgewell is 9-3-2 on the season.
Paige Voight leads Hockey East with four power play goals for the Warriors. Dominique Kremer is ranked third in Hockey East defenseman scoring with nine points on two goals and seven assists.
Merrimack is tied for first with Boston College in Hockey East for power play conversion percentage going 11/44 (25%). The Warriors will have to face a strong Bobcat penalty kill, which hasn't let in a power play goal since Oct. 12.
All-Time Against the Warriors
Quinnipiac is 0-0-1 against Merrimack with the only game played coming from the Nutmeg Classic on Nov. 25, 2016. The game ended in a tie, but Merrimack went on to the championship game after a shootout.
Bobcats' Last Time Out
Quinnipiac hosted #6/6 Cornell and Colgate on Nov. 16-17 in Hamden, Conn. Cornell took the first game 2-1, and the second game against Colgate ended in a 3-3 tie.
Kati Tabin had two points against Colgate with goal and an assist. MacKenzie Lancaster had two assists on the weekend. Brooke Bonsteel recorded her first goal of the season and Melissa Samoskevich and Lexie Adzija both scored against Colgate.
Ives in the Net
Junior Abbie Ives has recorded three shutouts on the season against Brown, Yale and Harvard. She recorded a season-high 32 saves in the 3-3 tie against Colgate. The junior netminder is ranked sixth in the ECAC with a 1.31 GAA and seventh with a .937 save percentage.
Bobcats on the PK
Quinnipiac has gone 17-17 on the penalty kill through six ECAC games, which ranks first in the conference. The Bobcats have not allowed a power play goal against since Oct. 12 against Vermont in a 1-1 tie. Against Cornell and Colgate, Quinnipiac's special teams only allowed four total shots through eight penalty minutes.
Samo Returns from Saskatchewan
Senior captain Melissa Samoskevich was named to the U.S. Women's National Team Roster for the 2018 Four Nations Cup. Samoskevich scored in the U.S.'s win against Sweden and Canada. The U.S. won all four games, including the championship game against Canada. This was the four consecutive time the U.S. has won the Four Nations Cup.
