When the puck drops on January 6th at the 2018 IIHF Women's World U18 Championships in Dmitrov, Russia, the Bobcats will be well represented. Lexie Adzija (St. Thomas, Ontario), Logan Angers (Winnipeg, Manitoba), and Courtney Vorster (Richmond, British Columbia) will be competing for Team Canada in their quest to bring home the gold. Along with Katie Huntington (Prior Lake, Minnesota) and Amy Dobson (Hamilton, Ontario), the trio makes up one of the program's deepest and most talented recruiting classes in years. The five players - two forwards, two defensemen, and one goalie - are all expected to make significant contributions in the Bobcats' annual quest to compete for championships.
"Our staff has worked incredibly hard to put together not only a great group of hockey players, but also a strong collection of individuals defined by their high character, work ethic, and desire to be great teammates - to be part of something bigger than themselves," said Head Coach Cassandra Turner. "I'm thankful to be surrounded by a talented staff that shares a passion to identify and attract driven, accomplished student-athletes prepared to positively impact our strong team culture of pride, collaboration, and success. The demonstrated excellence of this year's class, on the ice, as leaders, and in their school and local communities has us very excited about the impact they'll make on the Bobcat program over the next four years.
