Nationally-ranked No. 3 Quinnipiac will host Fairmont State University on Saturday, Apr. 1 at 2 p.m. at the TD Bank Sports Center. At the conclusion of the Team Event, Quinnipiac will honor its five seniors - Allee Tallman, Kelsey Rule, Noelle Brasier, Emily Lowenstein and Jocelyn Saber.
THEIR LAST TIME OUT
The Quinnipiac acrobatics & tumbling team defeated Glenville State 280.435-237.550, in an event-sweeping National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association meet at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Connecticut.
Quinnipiac jumped out to a commanding lead through the Compulsory event, 37.15-29.95. The Bobcats grabbed wins in all four heats of the event winning the Acro (8.90-7.15), Pyramid (9.80-9.40), Toss (9.95-9.20) and Tumbling (8.50-4.20) heats ... the Bobcats continued their impressive afternoon with another victory in the acro event, 29.60-27.40 ... Quinnipiac ended the first half of the meet on another high note with a 29.70-27.45 victory over Glenville State in the pyramid event. The victory completed a first-half sweep of events for the Bobcats and gave them a 96.85-84.80 lead heading into halftime ... Quinnipiac started the second half of the meet impressively with a 29.40-26.30 victory in the Toss Event, which gave it a running-total lead of 125.85-111.1 after four events ... The Bobcats continued their event-winning streak with a 54.525-46.500 win in the tumbling event over the Pioneers, pushing their running-total lead to 180.375-157.600 ... The Bobcats finished off a complete six-event sweep on the day with a strong 100.60-79.95 victory in the team event, solidifying their meet victory with a 280.435-237.55 final total.
ECAC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Senior Allee Tallman (Farmington, New York) was named the ECAC Acrobatics & Tumbling League Athlete of the Week, as announced by the organization on Monday, Mar. 27, 2017. Tallman is the second Bobcat to earn the weekly award from the ECAC after Jenna Adams previously won on Feb. 20, 2017.
The senior co-captain and 2016 All-American led Quinnipiac to a sweep of every heat in a 280.975-237.550 win against Glenville State. Tallman was a perfect 10-0 for the day, including the team event.
In the Compulsory Event, which Quinnipiac swept, Tallman led Quinnipiac to a 9.80 in the pyramid heat and a 9.95 in the toss heat, which was the second-highest score of the meet. She then posted a 9.85 in the 7 Element heat of the Acro Event. In the Pyramid event, Tallman - one of the elite bases in Acrobatics & Tumbling - led Quinnipiac to a 9.80 in Heat 1, a 9.90 in Heat 2 before Quinnipiac posted its first perfect score of the season with a 10.00 in Heat 3. She wrapped up her day with a 9.75 in the Synchronized heat of the Toss Event. The Bobcats then posted their second 100+ point Team Event score of the season with a 100.60.
NCATA PRESEASON POLL
Quinnipiac was picked to finish third in the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) preseason coaches' poll. Baylor was picked to finish first with 12 first-place votes followed by Oregon, who received the other first-place vote. Quinnipiac, at third, preceded Hawaii Pacific, Azusa Pacific, Fairmont State, Alderson-Broaddus, Gannon, King, Concordia-Wisconsin, Glenville State, Georgetown College and Adrian.
ECAC ACROBATICS & TUMBLING
Quinnipiac and NCATA members Alderson-Broaddus, Gannon and King were announced as members of the newly-formed Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Acrobatics & Tumbling League. The formation of the league will signal an additional championship for the sport that continues to grow, nationally.

Noelle Brasier (Simi Valley, California), Kelsey Rule (Kendall Park, New Jersey) and Allee Tallman (Farmington, New York) will serve as captains for the 2017 season, as voted on by the team's coaching staff and student-athletes.
