QU Women’s Ice Hockey Rolls To 3-2 Exhibition Win Against Team Korea

HAMDEN, Connecticut – The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team defeated Team Korea in an exhibition game by a score of 3-2. Three different Bobcats found the back of the net while the team outshot Korea 55-16.

SCORING SUMMARY

4:02 2nd Period (Korea 1-0): After some action in front of the net, Ji Yeon Cho was able to get the puck under Allison Small. Jong Ah Park assisted on the play.
7:32 2nd Period (QU 1-1): Melissa Samoskevich rifled the puck top shelf after finding the rebound from Kenzie Lancaster. Allison Roethke and Lancaster picked up assists on the score.
17:21 2nd Period (QU 2-1): Kenzie Prater found the rebound from Melissa Samoskevich's shot from the high slot and tipped the puck in.
17:36 2nd Period (Korea 2-2): Immediately following Praters's goal, Team Korea's Susie Jo raced up the slot to put one past Abbie Ives.
4:12 3rd Period (QU 3-2): After Taylor House sent the puck to the crease, Renee Saltness took it home for the lead.

Melissa Samoskevich (Sandy Hook, Connecticut), Kenzie Prater (Hudson, Wisconsin) and Renee Saltness (Rochester, Minnesota) all scored for the Bobcats.
Allison Roethke (Buffalo, Minnesota), Kenzie Lancaster (Waxhaw, North Carolina) and Taylor House (Joliet, Illinois) all added assists while Samoskevich also picked u p a helper in the game. unofficially added her 11th assist of the season with the helper on Samoskevich's score.
Quinnipiac improves to 2-0 all-time against national teams, with its last victory an 8-0 win over Team China in 2014.
The Bobcats outshot Team Korea 55-16, their highest shot total since they tallied 61 against Dartmouth on Oct. 27, 2017.

UPCOMING GAME
The Bobcats will begin the second half of the season against Yale on Tuesday, Jan. 2. Since Quinnipiac will play Yale an additional two times, the game will not count towards conference standings.
