Bobcats Outscored 23-10 in Final 10:57, Shewan (14) and McClure (13) Combine for 27 of Bobcats' 51 Total Points
IOWA CITY, Iowa – For the second straight game, the Quinnipiac women's basketball team saw what was a competitive three-quarter game turn into a runaway as No. 16 nationally-ranked Missouri outscored the Bobcats 23-10 over the final 10:57 to score the 66-51 victory.
The loss comes on the heels of last night's game that saw Iowa outscore the Bobcats 28-13 in the fourth quarter in a contest that featured 15 lead changes and nine ties. Sarah Shewan (14 points) and Aryn McClure (13) combined for more than half of the Bobcats' point total in a game Quinnipiac led midway through the third quarter. Next up for the Bobcats is their sixth straight game coming against high-major opponents (five of which have come against nationally-ranked foes) dating back to last season, with a game at No. 5/8 Ohio State on Friday night.

- 21-10 MIZZ (4:51, 2Q): Much of the second quarter was a mirror image of the first, Quinnipiac broke a scoreless streak of 6:14 with a pair of Shewan free throws while the Tigers were largely held in-check on the offensive end

- 36-30 MIZZ (5:40, 3Q): Missouri benefitted from a 4-0 run to own a three-point halftime advantage and sustained their play into the third, building a six-point lead midway through the frame

- 54-41 MIZZ (9:34, 4Q): What was a small Bobcat lead quickly turned into a 13-point Missouri advantage as the Tigers were able to score 12 of the final 16 points of the third quarter and the first four points of the fourth quarter to take a seismic lead that they wouldn't relinquish
- Shewan (14 points, 2-3 3FG, 8-8 FT) led the team in scoring for the ninth time in 106 career games, nothing six of her 14 points in the fourth quarter alone
- Shewan finished the Hawkeye Challenge with 23 points (11.5 per game) while shooting 5-of-12 from long range
- McClure provided great all-around play as she recorded 13 points (5-10 FG, 3-5 3FG) to go along with three blocks and one steal in a team-high 29 minutes
- After going 1-for-23 from three-point range last season, McClure tripled her career total of three-point makes in one game
- Paula Strautmane (Riga, Latvia) added seven points and a team-high five rebounds (three offensive) before fouling out with 28 minutes played
- Warfel came off the bench and provided good minutes with five points and four rebounds in 11 minutes
- Warfel drained her second career three-pointer
- Quinnipiac's defensive approach held 2016-17 AP All-American Honorable Mention Sophie Cunningham to just 3-of-12 shooting for 11 points and four turnovers for the Hawkeye's best offensive player
- Missouri was paced by Jordan Frericks who dominated on the interior for 23 points (9-16 FG) and 17 rebounds (eight offensive)
- Quinnipiac won the turnover battle once again, recorded 11 turnovers while forcing Missouri into 13
- Missouri dominated the Bobcats on the glass (41-27), points in the paint (32-10) and second chance points (18-4)
