On Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, former Quinnipiac men's ice hockey stand-out Matthew Peca became the first player from Quinnipiac to score a goal in the NHL. Through his first four NHL games, Peca has totaled one goal and one assist for two points.

Tuesday, Jan. 3: Peca's first career NHL goal against Winnipeg on Tuesday with 16:18 left in the second period tied the game at 1-1.
Saturday, Dec. 31: Peca becomes the first Quinnipiac player to register a point in the NHL when he assisted on Alex Killorn's goal in the Lightning's tilt against the Carolina Hurricanes.
