FORMAT: 18 Holes on Sunday, Sept. 18, beginning at 11:30 a.m. and 18 holes on Monday, Sept. 19 at 8 a.m.

The Quinnipiac University women's golf team will head out for its second tournament of the fall when it travels to Phoenix, Maryland for the 2016 Tignanelli Invitational hosted by Towson University. The 36-hole tournament will between Sunday, Sept. 18 and Monday, Sept. 19 at Eagle's Nest Country Club.
THE TOWSON TIGNANELLI INVITATIONAL
- Quinnipiac will compete in the 14-team Towson Tignanelli Invitational against Bethune-Cookman, Central Connecticut State, Delaware State, Fairfield, Hampton, Lamar, Lehigh, Long Island, Longwood, Monmouth, Navy, Saint Francis & Towson.
- Quinnipiac last played in Towson's fall tournament in 2013. Nicole Scola (Westerly, R.I.), a freshman at the time, finished tied for eighth place while the Bobcats finished 11th out of 14 teams in the event, ahead of Hofstra, Delaware State and Hampton University. Scola recorded a 75 ( 3) on the second day of her first career tournament for the second best one-round finish in program history, to date. Combined with her 79 ( 6) on Sunday, Sept. 8, her 154 ( 10) tied the program record for a two-day tournament.

THE BOBCATS LAST TIME OUT
- The Quinnipiac University women's golf team finished in 12th place out of 16 teams at the 2016 Navy Fall Classic at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Course in Annapolis, Maryland.
- Quinnipiac freshman Alexandra Sazhin (New Fairfield, Conn.) led the team for the second-straight day, posting a 79 ( 7) to go-along with her first-day 75 ( 3) as she finished the tournament with a 154 ( 10) for a tie of eighth place. Sazhin's two-day tally in her first collegiate tournament is tied for the 11thbest 36-hole score in Quinnipiac history.
ALEXANDRA SAZHIN
- Freshman stand-out Alexandra Sazhin made her collegiate debut at last weekend's Navy Fall Classic, finishing tied for eighth place with a two-day tally of 154 ( 10). Sazhin shot a 75 ( 3) on the first day before following with a 79 ( 7) on the second round.
- Sazhin converted on 27.8% of her birdie attempts, good for seventh of the 64 nationally-ranked NCAA Division I women's golfers.
- Sazhin's putter saw just 29 putts at Navy, good for third among 76 nationally.
WHAT'S ON THE BOBCATS' SLATE
Following its trip to Phoenix, Maryland for the Towson Tignanelli Invitational, Quinnipiac will compete in the Dartmouth Invitational at the Hanover Country Club on Sept. 24-25. The Bobcats will then host the Quinnipiac Classic at New Haven Country Club on Oct. 10-11.
