
Quinnipiac Women's Ice Hockey Announces 2016-17 Schedule

Quinnipiac Women's Ice Hockey Head Coach Cassie Turner has announced the Bobcats' 2016-17 schedule with featured 17 home dates as well as the 2016 Nutmeg Classic at High Point Solutions Arena.
The Bobcats are coming off a remarkable 2015-16 season under first year head coach Cassandra Turner, capped off by winning the ECAC Hockey Regular Season and Tournament championships, as well as hosting the first NCAA Tournament Quarterfinal in program history. Quinnipiac had a year of firsts on many fronts, along with many program records falling in the process. The Bobcats went 30-3-5 for the most wins in program history as well as the highest winning percentage (.855) in program history. Turner set the NCAA Record for most wins by a first year women's ice hockey head coach.
Other team records for the Bobcats set this year were most goals scored (118), most assists (188), highest power play percentage (25 percent), highest penalty kill (92.5 percent), fewest goals allowed (35), lowest GAA (0.92), most home wins (18), tied the most road wins (11), longest winning streak (10 games), and longest unbeaten streak (21 games).
The Bobcats' schedule opens on Sept. 25 when Turner's squad hosts Guelph for an exhibition game at High Point Solutions Arena at 3 p.m. Quinnipiac's regular season opens with a two-game series at home against Maine on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.
Quinnipiac finds itself on the road for seven of its next eight games with trips to UConn on Oct. 7 and New Hampshire on Oct. 8 before a two-game series at Mercyhurst on Oct. 14-15. The Bobcats will then play a home-and-home series at Boston College on Oct. 21 before hosting the Eagles on Oct. 22. Quinnipiac will wrap-up the month with its first ECAC Hockey games of the season at Yale on Oct. 28 and at Brown on Oct. 29.
Six of Quinnipiac's eight games during the month of November will be at High Point Solutions Arena beginning with Clarkson and St. Lawrence on Nov. 4-5 before a road trip to Dartmouth on Nov. 11 and Harvard on Nov. 12. The Bobcats will then host Cornell on Nov. 18 and Colgate on Nov. 19 before the Nutmeg Classic on Nov. 25-26. Quinnipiac will face Merrimack on Nov. 25 at 3 p.m., preceding a match-up between Yale and UConn at 6 p.m. The Consolation and Championship games land on Nov. 26 at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively.
Quinnipiac returns to action at Union and RPI on Dec. 2-3 before the first-half break. Quinnipiac returns to host Penn State on Dec. 30 before heading to Princeton on Jan. 1. The following weekend is highlighted by a pair of home games against Harvard on Jan. 6 and Dartmouth on Jan. 7. Quinnipiac will travel to Colgate and Cornell on Jan. 13-14 and Merrimack on Jan. 20.
Quinnipiac women's ice hockey's annual "Kid's Day" game lands on Jan. 31 when the Bobcats host ECAC Hockey foe Princeton at 12 p.m. to accommodate elementary students from the surrounding communities. Further details will be announced closer to the date of the game.
