
QU Men's Soccer Adds Three Student-Athletes to 2015 Roster

Hamden, Conn. - Quinnipiac men's soccer head coach Eric Da Costa is pleased to announce the addition of transfer Mikail Ellis (San Fernando, Trinidad), Rashawn Dally (Bloomfield, Connecticut), and Colton Grob (Suffield, Connecticut) to the team's roster for the upcoming 2015 campaign. Ellis comes to QU as a junior after two seasons with the University of Texas Brownsville while Dally and Grob will join the Bobcats as freshmen, Dally from the Watkinson School in Hartford and Grob from Suffield High School.
Ellis, Dally, and Grob will join UConn transfer Triston Henry as the first four players signed to play for Quinnipiac in the upcoming fall season. Dally and Grob played club ball together on CFC United and won consecutive Connecticut Junior Soccer Association (CJSA) State Championships in 2013 and 2014. They will look to fill the void left by seniors Borja Angoitia, Machel Baker, Raphael Carvalho, Joe Da Graca, Zach Friedenreich, Ashton Pett and Marcos Spanos. With six seniors departing, Da Costa loses three All-Conference selections in Angoitia, Baker and Carvalho. In 2015, the Bobcats will go for a fourth straight regular-season title after hosting the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament and going undefeated in conference play with a 7-0-3 record in 2014.

MIKAIL ELLIS

Class: Junior
Position: Defense
Team/Individual Accolades:
- Attended University of Texas Brownsville as a sophomore
- Played two seasons at the University of Texas Brownsville, appearing in 29 games while starting 13 and recording two assists
- In 2014, UTB registered an overall record of 24-1, winning 24 consecutive game before losing in the championship game
- Team went undefeated in conference play with a 9-0 record on the way to NAIA National Runners Up in 2014
- Earned honors of most promising player after winning the club team W Connection U18 League Championship in 2012
- His club team was runner up in the South Zone League, National Big-5 Championships, and South Intercol in 2012
- In 2009 and 2011, his club team was crowned South Intercol Champion and a National Intercol Semi-finalist
Personal
- He will pursue a degree in marketing
- Mikail is the son of Chantal and Chris Ellis
- He has a twin brother, Kegan, who is currently a sophomore on the Monmouth University soccer team

RASHAWN DALLY
Hometown: Bloomfield, CT

Class: Freshman
Team/Individual Accolades:
- Attended Bloomfield High School for first two years before transferring to Watkinson School for his junior and senior seasons
- As a sophomore in 2012, Rashawn was part of the Bloomfield High School Class S state Championship team
- He was named Bloomfield High Warhawk of the Year for the 2012-2013 season
- Dally earned All-Conference honors in 2012 at Bloomfield
- He was named Watkinson Soccer Most Valuable Player in 2013 and Offensive MVP in 2014
- A member of the Connecticut Football Club (CFC)
- Back-to-back CJSA Connecticut State Championship titles with CFC United in 2013 and 2014
- Dally earned recognition on the Connecticut All-State team for CFC United in consecutive years, 2013 and 2014
- His club team won the 2014 National Premier League Championship
- Dally was invited to the Jamaica U17 National Team Camp in 2013

COLTON GROB

- Attended Suffield High School in Connecticut
- Grob was part of a Suffield team that won back-to-back-to-back Class M State Championships in 2011, 2012 and 2013
- Led his team to North Central Conference Titles in four consecutive years, 2011-2014
- As a freshman, Grob was named the Connecticut State Tournament Most Valuable Player in 2011
- Named to the All-Conference and All-State teams for three straight years, 2012-2014
- Grob earned All-New England honors in both junior and senior years
- As a senior, Grob was named All-American, Connecticut Junior Soccer Association All-American, Connecticut Player of the Year, CJSA Youth Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player of the Senior Bowl
- Is a member of the Connecticut Football Club (CFC)
- Joined Dally to win back-to-back CJSA State Championships in 2013 and 2014
Personal
- Colton is the son of Stephen and Deb Grob.
- He will enter Quinnipiac as an undecided major.
