Albany, New York – Quinnipiac women's ice hockey senior goaltender Chelsea Laden (Lakeville, Minnesota) has been named the ECAC Hockey Women's Goaltender of the Month for November, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
This is the second consecutive month that Laden has been named the ECAC Hockey Women's Goaltender of the Month and third career monthly award.
Laden posted some of the best statistics in the country on her way to a 7-0-1 month between the pipes for the Bobcats as she extended her personal-best unbeaten streak to 14 games and the team's streak to 15 games.
In the month, Laden and the Bobcats defeated three ranked opponents, including then No. 5 Clarkson twice in an eight day span. Laden shutout then-ranked No. 8/6 Cornell on Nov. 1 3-0 at Lynah Rink, the first shutout victory for an opposing team at Cornell since Nov. 15, 2006. Three weeks later, Laden shutout Clarkson at home, 1-0, for just the second home win against the Golden Knights in program history.
Laden recorded four shutouts in November on her way to tying her single-season high of eight shutouts in a season, just one shy of former goaltender Victoria Vigilanti's record of nine shutouts in a season.
In eight games, Laden allowed just six goals leading to a 0.74 GAA while saving 128 of 134 shots, good for a .955 save percentage.
Overall, Laden still leads the nation in GAA (0.57), save percentage (.960), shutouts (8), and is second in the country in winning percentage at .964 with a 13-0-1 record.
Just two games remain until the Bobcats take a winter break, as Quinnipiac will travel to Hanover, New Hampshire to face the Dartmouth Big Green on Friday at 7 P.M. before heading east to Cambridge, Massachusetts to face the Harvard Crimson on Saturday at 4 P.M.
