Quinnipiac men's ice hockey head coach Rand Pecknold was featured on CollegeHockeyNews.com in an article penned by Dave Starman. Starman's article "Taking A Look At Coaches To Watch In 2013-14" features Pecknold as he enters his 20th season as the Bobcats' head coach.
Pecknold is coming off arguably the most successful season in program history after he guided the Bobcats to the NCAA National Championshp Game. Pecknold earned ECAC Hockey Tim Taylor Coach of the Year and New England Hockey Writers Association Clark Hodder Coach of the Year honors after Quinnipiac won the Cleary Cup for the ECAC Hockey Regular-Season Championship.
Pecknold is also tied for sixth among active coaches in career wins. The 20th-year coach checks in with 367 wins for his career.

The Bobcats finished the season with an overall record of 30-8-5, good for a NCAA-leading .756 winning percentage, while also leading the country with the most wins (30) and fewest losses (8) in Division I ice hockey. Quinnipiac also posted a national-best 21-game unbeaten streak from Nov. 9, 2012 through Feb. 9, 2013.
Quinnipiac opens the regular season on Friday, Oct. 11 when it takes on Alaska-Anchorage at the Kendall Hockey Classic in Anchorage, Alaska. The game is slated for a 12:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time puck-drop. The Bobcats will then face Alaska-Fairbanks on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
