HAMDEN, Conn. Quinnipiac men's ice hockey junior Brandon Wong (Victoria, B.C.) will appear live on ESPN 1410 AM's The Back Page with host Jason Page on Tuesday, March 10 at 6:05 p.m. Head coach Rand Pecknold will also appear on WTIC 1080 AM with Kevin Nathan on Wednesday, March 11 at 6:10 p.m. Both will discuss Quinnipiac's ECAC Hockey Tournament First-Round series win against Colgate and their upcoming quarterfinals series against St. Lawrence in Canton, N.Y.
Before Friday night's heroics in a 3-2 win, Wong had missed Quinnipiac's last 11 games and had not suited up since Jan. 22 when he left an 8-5 loss to Robert Morris with an injury. The goal was Wong's eight of the season and his 100th career point, making him the 29th player all-time at Quinnipiac and the 16th at the Division I level to reach the century mark. He followed Friday night's game with an assist in the Bobcats' Saturday night loss before once again scoring the game-winner in the third and deciding game.
Quinnipiac squares off against St. Lawrence in the first of their best-of-three games series against the Saints on Friday, March 13 at 7 p.m. at Appleton Arena in Canton, N.Y.
