HAMDEN, Conn. - Sophomore goalkeeper Freddy Hall (St. George, Bermuda) received two NCAA Statistical Leader Awards for leading the nation in both Goalkeeper categories. Hall finished first in the nation among NCAA Division I players in saves per game (7.38) and save percentage (.915). As a team, Quinnipiac also received an NCAA Statistical Leader Award for save percentage (.906).
Hall, in his first year at Quinnipiac, was a large part of the Bobcats' breakout 2007 season. In addition to leading NCAA Division I men's soccer in saves per game and save percentage, he finished first in the NEC in goals against average (0.64) and fifth in shutouts (six).
An All-NEC Second Team selection, Hall was recognized as the Brine/NEC Player of the Week after back-to-back 1-0 shutouts against Holy Cross and Central Connecticut State. He was also recognized as the ECAC Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts, and was named Eli's Restaurant/Quinnipiac October Athlete of the Month. Hall was also named to the 2007 NSCAA/adidas North Atlantic All-Region Second Team.
"This is a tremendous achievement and I am very happy to see Freddy rewarded for his hard work and stellar play," said head coach Eric Da Costa, "He is a positive reflection of Quinnipiac soccer and I am sure there will be many more accolades for him in the future."
