Women's Volleyball Loses Second Game Of Volley In The Valley Tournament

The Quinnipiac University women's volleyball team lost the final game of the first day of the Volley in the Valley Tournament, hosted by Marist. The Bobcats fell to Rutgers, 3-0. Rutgers won three straight, 30-16, 30-15 and 30-23. Quinnipiac starts the 2007 year at 0-2 while Rutgers gets their first victory of the year to improve to 1-2.
For Quinnipiac, Michelle Vasapoli (Valley Stream, N.Y.) totaled a team-high 10 assists while also tallying eight digs and one service ace. Khrysty Griswold (Milford, Conn.) also had eight digs for the Bobcats.
For Rutgers, Katie Groff had a game-high 12 kills while Roxy Calder totaled a game-high 17 assists.
Quinnipiac returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 1 when travel to West Point, N.Y. for the second day of the Volley in the Valley, this time hosted by Army. The Bobcats play Air Force at 11 a.m. and Army at 3 p.m.
