Danielle Brennan was named as an assistant coach with the Quinnipiac women’s basketball team in July of 2010 and is now entering her 11th season with the Bobcats in 2020-21. Brennan came to Quinnipiac from the University of New Haven where she served as an assistant coach from 2006 to 2010.

Brennan has played a big role in the recruiting of several Bobcat standouts in her years as an assistant as well as managing the team's equipment and tackling in-season scouting of Quinnipiac opponents. As a former standout guard playing for the University of Hartford, Brennan works closely with Quinnipiac's backcourt and helps design individual workouts for team practices. Her efforts have helped lead to four conference championships in the last six years, and three NCAA Tournament wins in the last two years.

Brennan assists with the recruiting of potential student-athletes and serves as the team’s community service organizer within the surrounding communities. The women’s basketball program has established close relationships with elementary schools within the towns of Hamden, Cheshire, New Haven and Meriden within the last few seasons.

While at New Haven, Brennan served in a variety of roles on the Chargers’ coaching staff. Among her many duties, Brennan handled recruiting responsibilities and mediated all correspondence between student-athletes and various administrators. As the team’s academic coordinator, Brennan was in charge of study halls and class scheduling, while monitoring the student-athletes’ academic progression.

In addition, Brennan also developed in-game preparation, primarily dealing with the Chargers’ defensive configuration after extensive scouting of the opposition. Brennan was also involved in coordinating the team’s travel arrangements, as well as game-tape and film exchange with rival institutions.

In addition to her team responsibilities, Brennan was also responsible for team alumni relations and was a member of the “Pink Zone” and “Midnight Madness” committees. Brennan also coordinated several community involvement initiatives including the team’s volunteer work at a local soup kitchen; Martha’s Place, a recovery program for women overcoming drug addiction and homelessness and an Autism in Recreation of Wallingford program.

In addition, Brennan played a role in fund-raising initiatives for the Chargers, including the annual Charger Tip-Off, the Charger Classic Golf Outing and Sponsorship for the team.

Brennan was a four-year standout on the University of Hartford women’s basketball team that won the America East Championship in 2005 and 2006 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. During her career, she was given the team’s Persistence Award, the Most Improved Player Award, and the Coaches Award. She also claimed an America East All-Tournament Team selection.

Brennan graduated from Hartford with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She currently resides in Avon, Connecticut with her husband, Pierce, and their two children, Michaela and Logan. Her husband Pierce is a teacher at Avon Old Farms.
