As a graduate student:
Named All-New England after starting all 13 games, scoring 10 goals and adding seven assists, good for third on the team in both categories ... contributed a season-high four points (two goals, two assists) against St. John’s ... also scored twice each against Hartford, Ohio State and Denver ... dished out two assists in the Bobcats’ GWLL Semifinal appearance against Notre Dame ... also picked up 22 ground balls, including a season-high five in the season-opener against Wagner.
As a senior:
Led the Bobcats with 15 assists and tied for third in points with 20 in starting all 13 games ... picked up 28 ground balls.
As a junior:
Took part in all 13 games...Closed the year with seven points (three goals, four assists)...Took 10 shots...Scooped up 28 groundballs.
As a sophomore:
Played in four games on the season...Scored two points, both coming on assists...Scooped up six groundballs...Netted both assists in the season opener at Dartmouth.
As a freshman:
Played in nine games and made three starts for the Bobcats...scooped up 17 groundballs, including three against UMBC on April 10, Binghamton on April 17, Vermont on April 21, Hartford on April 24 and Stony Brook on May 1.
Before Quinnipiac:
Helped lead Mt. Sinai High School to the Suffolk County Finals in lacrosse...was a two-time All-Suffolk County selection...also played on the Long Island under 17 team...was a two-time All-Suffolk County selection in football and basketball.
Personal:
Son of Frank and Maureen Poerio...has two brothers: Frank and Mike...majoring in Sports Medicine.
