- Two-Time MAAC All-Academic Team (2015-16)
AS A SENIOR IN 2016:
- 2016 MAAC All-Academic Team
- Placed 26th at the Stony Brook Invitational (9/3) with a time of 20:10.1
- Placed 97th at the Iona Meet of Champions (9/16), clocking in at 28:28
- Finished the Paul Short Open Run (10/1) in 245th place with a time of 27:15.4
AS A JUNIOR IN 2015:
- 2015 MAAC All-Academic Team
- Appeared in all seven meets in 2015
- Former walk-on elevated himself into one of the team’s top runners in the final three meets of the season
- Started the year placing 48th at the Stony Brook Invitational, crossing the line in 20:35.2
- Picked up an 86th place finish at the Rider Invitational with a time of 26:50.5
- Placed 86th for the second straight meet at the Paul Short Brown Run with a time of 26:34.1
- Was second on the team and 33rd overall at the New England Sub Varsity Championship, crossing the line in 26:25.2
- Led the Bobcats with a fifth place finish, earning his first career Top 5 result, in the CCSU Mini Meet sub varsity event with a time of 15:52.8
- Excelled at the MAAC Championships, placing fourth on the team and 63rd overall with a time of 25:29.2
- Again excelled at the NCAA Northeast Regional, placing third on the team with a 179th place finish and time of 33:40.4
AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2014:
- Joined the team as a walk-on in his sophomore year
- Made his first career appearance at the Nassaney Memorial Race (9/6) where he placed 61st overall (6th on the team) with a time of 17:30.1
BEFORE QUINNIPIAC:
- Graduated from Francis T. Maloney High School in 2013 with seven total varsity letters, four in cross country and three in track and field
- Owns a piece of the Maloney school record in the 4x800m relay, combining with three teammates to clock in at 8:21
- Excelled in the classroom as a student-athlete, garnering high honors all four years of high school
PERSONAL:
- Born and raised in Meriden, Conn.
- Son of Scott and Deborah Hayes
- Has two brothers Matt and Logan
- Majoring in Biomedical Sciences
