As a Junior: Was named to the All-MAAC SecondTeam which is her second All-Conference Honor in hercareer ... All-time ranks sixth in doubles, tenth in homeruns and fifteenth in hits in the program's history... Played terrific defense after being moved toshortstop as a junior... Started in 45 games and was onceagain in the top three of every offensive category for the team ...Barba provided a big bat in the Quinnipiac lineup with a .336batting average, .419 on-base percentage, and a .544 sluggingpercentage ... Barba showed great discipline at the plate strikingout only seven times in 2013, the fewest on the team, while leadingthe Bobcats with 20 walks ... With six home runs and 23 runs battedin, Barba was a focal point in the Bobcats offensive attack ...Against Wagner on March 14th Knocked in an RBI and scored a big runin a 5-2 Quinnipiac win ... On March 23rd against Towson got onbase three times with two walks and a single. Scored whatwould be the deciding run in the fifth inning in a 2-1 win ...Against Connecticut on April 3rd Nikki knocked in thegame winning run in the bottom of the seventh for an11-10 come from behind win. She powered the Bobcats offensewith three hits, including a home run, and four RBIs... On April 5th Barba had a huge day against SaintPeter's. In the first game, a 16-4 win, where Barba led the routgoing 2-3 with a home run and a season high five RBIs ... Thenext game, Apr. 6th, she would once again go 2-3 with anotherhome run and two more RBIs in a loss to Rider 8-7. In thesecond game of that double header she notched three more hits in a12-1 road win. .... Over that five game span from April 3rd toApril 6th Barba went 12-for-17 with four doubles, three home runs,six runs scored, and 11 runs batted in ... On April 20th againstMonmouth Nikkia sparked a four run rally in the bottom of theseventh blasting a home run in a huge walk-off victory forQuinnipiac. In the game she went 3-for-4 knocking in two while alsoscoring two runs ... Against Niagara on May 3rd Barba proved to bethe difference in a 6-4 Bobcats' win. With an RBI and a run scoredBarba went 2-for-2 in the win.
As a Sophomore: Barba took home her firstcareer All-NEC distinction with Second Team honors following abreakout sophomore season in 2013…Also named to the CollegeSports Madness All-NEC First Team…She went from sixth on theteam in batting average in 2012 all the way up to second with a.331 mark at year's end…Her average was good enough for aspot in the Top-10 of the NEC in 2013…Barba improved acrossthe boards in terms of hits (49), runs scored (31), RBI (23), homeruns (4), doubles (13), walks (20), stolen bases (7), on-basepercentage (.421) and slugging percentage (.500)…She rankedin the top-three on the team in all respective categories and didso while starting all 52 games in 2013 at the second base positionfor Quinnipiac…Barba put together an 11-game hitting streakearlier in the season which was the highest for any Bobcat hitterthroughout 2013…Drew a career-high three walks in the seasonopener against Marshall on Feb. 23…Tallied her first of fourthree-hit games against UNC Greensboro on Feb. 23 as she finished3-for-4 with two runs scored, one double, one home run, two RBI andone stolen base…Was a part of the Bobcats’back-to-back-to-back home run spree against UNC Greensboro, comingone home run shy of tying the NCAA record…Reeled off astreak of four straight games with one hit from Feb. 24 to Mar.1…Walked twice and wrapped a single to go along with a runscored and RBI against Loyola Marymount on Mar. 2…The gameagainst Loyola Marymount started another four game streak in whichshe tallied a base hit…Finished 3-for-4 and drove in tworuns in a Mar. 12 victory over Maine…Totaled two hits inback-to-back games starting with UT-Chattanooga on Mar. 13(2-for-4, two runs, one double, two RBI) and Maine on Mar. 15(2-for-2, two runs, one double, one home run, two RBI, twowalks)…Knocked in a run with a double against Colgate onMar. 16…Began her 11-game hitting streak on Mar. 17 againstCornell…Barba hit .444 (16-for-36) during the hitting streakwith four doubles, nine runs and five RBI…Singled and walkedagainst the Big Red and UCONN to start the streak on Mar. 17 and26, respectively…Went 3-for-4 against the Huskies on Mar. 27and followed up with another 3-for-4 day against Monmouth on Mar.29 with two doubles, two runs and two RBI…Finished 1-for-3in three straight games starting on Mar. 29…Picked up twohits against LIU Brooklyn on Apr. 6 and followed up with a 1-for-3day with two runs and one RBI against Mount St.Mary’s…Scored a run in four straight games from Apr.13-14 and totaled two hits in each game of a weekend doubleheaderagainst Sacred Heart on Apr. 14…Finished 2-for-3 againstBryant on Apr. 27 with one double, one run and oneRBI…Walked in six straight games starting on Apr. 18 againstHarvard…Went 1-for-1 with two runs, one home run, one RBI,two walks and one stolen base against Manhattan on May 2.
As a Freshman: Appeared in 48 games (allstarts) at the second base position for the Bobcats, the most ofany freshman on the roster…She finished with the sixth-bestbatting average on the team at .285 (37-for-130) which was good for40thin the NEC…Also chipped in the fourth-mostruns scored (17), third-most doubles (six), third-most home runs(two), fourth-most runs batted in (14), second-most walks (15),third-most steals (six) and fourth-highest on-base percentage(.367)…Also shined defensively for Quinnipiac with a .957fielding percentage, committing just seven errors from her secondbase position…Burst onto the scene with a season-high threehits against St. Peter’s on Feb. 25 with a run scored and oneRBI…Scored a run in five straight games to start the seasonincluding a .417 batting average (5-for-12) with one double and twoRBI in the five-game stretch…Finished 2-for-4 with a runscored against CSU Bakersfield on March 16…Highlighted herseason with a two home run performance against Sacred Heart onApril 1 that started another five game hitting streak where Barbatore the cover off the ball with a .500 batting average (9-for-18),five runs scored, three doubles, and five RBI…Posted threestraight games with two hits within the five game hitting streakfrom April 4 – 6…Finished a doubleheader againstWagner on April 14 going 3-for-8 with two runs scored, one double,and two RBI…Finished 2-for-4 against Bryant on April 29 withone RBI…Finished the season as the Bobcat’s hottesthitter riding a six game hitting streak into next season with a.444 batting average (8-for-18) including two runs scored and oneRBI.
Before Quinnipiac: Attended Mt. Carmel HighSchool where she won three varsity letters in softball…Also,played varsity field hockey for one year…Won three CIFChampionships in softball…Received the Coaches’ Awardin 2009…Also, suited up for the SD Renegades, where she wona Western National Championship in 2007.
