Bairos Delivers OT Game Winner, No. 7/8 Bobcats Play for Championship

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – The No. 7/8 Quinnipiac Bobcats women's ice hockey team upset No. 2 seed Princeton 2-1 in overtime to earn a spot in the ECAC Championship Finals for the first time since the 2015-16 season.
Taylor Brueske opened the scoring midway through the first period, netting her 10th goal of the season. It marked the fourth time this year the sophomore has scored the game's opening goal.
Neither side found the back of the net in a hard-fought second period.
Princeton tied the game at 8:38 of the third period on a goal from Angelina DiGirolamo, forcing the game into overtime.
Avery Bairos, who had scored her first two career goals earlier this season, delivered the game-winner to send Quinnipiac to another Battle of Whitney Ave.
Felicia Frank stopped 30 of 31 shots to earn her 27th win of the season.
Quinnipiac will face Yale in the ECAC Championship game on Saturday at 5 p.m.
