No. 7 Bobcats Take Game One Behind Six-Goal Effort

HAMDEN, Conn. – The No. 7 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team opened the ECAC Quarterfinals with a 6-3 victory over Brown on Friday night.
Kahlen Lamarche got the Bobcats on the board midway through the first period, netting her 36th goal of the season.
Less than a minute into the second frame, Taylor Brueske extended the lead with her fourth goal in five games off a feed from Ella Johnson.
Brown answered midway through the period on a goal by Jade Iginla, but Avery Bairos responded 21 seconds later on a shot through the five-hole to make it 3-1.
The Bears added a late power-play goal from Margot Norehad to cut the deficit to one entering the third.
Peyton Cormier wasted little time for the Bobcats, scoring on a short-handed breakaway just 38 seconds into the final frame.
Emerson Jarvis added insurance with a coast-to-coast effort for her 14th goal of the season.
Lamarche finished the scoring for Quinnipiac with her second goal of the night and fourth empty-netter of the season.
Norehad added her second of the game late, but the Bobcats held onto their lead.
Felicia Frank made 37 saves to earn her 25th win of the season.
