CLOSING TIME
- The stretch run has come in the 2025-26 NCAA Ice Hockey regular season, with two weekends left before playoff hockey begins. The Bobcats sit No. 6 in the NPI Rankings, a base measure for the 2026 NCAA Tournament, as they enter the final two weekends.
- Quinnipiac can clinch the ECAC Regular Season this weekend with a pair of regulation wins, as well as a dropped point by Dartmouth in its two games this weekend with one weekend left in the year.
- They have won five consecutive ECAC regular season titles and have clinched six consecutive berths in the NCAA Tournament and are in prime position to clinch both again in this year's campaign.
DYNAMIC DUO
- The defensive pairing of Elliott Groenewold and Braden Blace has shined since the Christmas break, with the two currently 1-2 in plus-minus since January 2. Groenewold sits at a +28 rating, while Blace is five behind at +23.
- Blace is tied with teammate Will Gilson for third-most points by a defenseman since the holiday break in NCAA Hockey, totaling 14 points in his 14 outings.
- Groenewold also leads the nation in plus-minus overall at a plus-40. That mark is also the highest of any NCAA skater at this point in the season since at least 2002-03. He is also the eighth player since then to reach the plus-40 mark.
THREE'S COMPANY
- The Bobcats offense has been rolling consistently this season, scoring three or more goals in 25 of its 32 games this season. They are undefeated in these outings, currently sitting at 23-0-2.
- The 25 such outings lead the country, with Michigan one behind at 24 and Michigan State and Michigan Tech at 23 performances of three or more goals. They are one of six teams in the country that have not lost when scoring three or more and join Michigan as the only teams who have only done it 20 or more times without a loss.
FIRST-YEAR PHENOMS
- First years Ethan Wyttenbach, Antonin Verreault and Markus Vidicek, are quickly making a name for themselves in each of their first years of college hockey.
- Wyttenbach is square in the Hobey Baker Award race, currently pacing the country by six points atop the national scoring leaderboard with 51.
- Verreault and Vidicek are also squarely in the Rookie of the Year chase, currenlty sitting third and sixth, respectively, in the country in points. Vidicek has 17 goals on the season, placing him third behind Wyttenbach and Maine's Justin Poirier.
