Historic Night Highlights Men's Hockey Opening Night

HAMDEN, Conn. — It was a record-setting night at M&T Bank Arena in front of a sold out crowd, as the No. 7/8 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program rolled past New Hampshire on 10-2 to start the 2026-27.
The offense was spread evenly, as 16 different skaters recorded a point and Quinnipiac scored four in the first, as well as three in the second and third. Ethan Wyttenbach led the way with three points, while Chris Pelosi joined him with a pair of goals.
The game was also highlighted by a pair of collegiate firsts, with Parker Alcos and Dylan Edwards both potting their first collegiate tallies.
Christian Kirsch recorded his first win in college hockey, making 21 saves on 23 shots on frame.

STATS AND NOTES
- Wyttenbach recorded his 18th multi-point game in college hockey, finishing the day with a pair of goals and an assist.
- Pelosi has three multi-goal games to his credit, his first since scoring a pair against St. Lawrence on Jan. 30 of last season.
- The 16 skaters with a point are the most since Jan. 12, 2024 when they had that number in a 9-2 win over Princeton.
- Quinnipiac's 10-goal outburst is the most since 2013, a night they also scored 10 in the ECAC Quarterfinals against Cornell.
- It is the second-most goals in program history in a Quinnipiac season opener. They scored 12 against St. John's to begin the 1981-82 campaign.
- The eight-goal win is the most in a curtain raiser since they defeated Johnson & Wales 9-1 to begin the 1997-98 season.
- Alex Kostov also recorded a multi-assist game in his college debut, dishing a pair of helpers. He is the first Bobcat to record multiple assists in his debut since Landon Smith against Bentley on Oct. 11, 2014.
- Parker Alcos joined Kostov with a multi-point game in his collegiate debut, the first such performances since Smith against Bentley.
- The Bobcats' 10 goals are the most against a Hockey East opponent in the program's history, besting the previous mark by two.
- This is also the most goals by an ECAC Hockey team against the Hockey East opponent since Dartmouth put 10 past UMass Lowell on Dec. 29, 2002.
