Bobcats Selected First in MAAC Preseason Poll

HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac women's golf team was selected to finish first in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league announced on Thursday, Feb. 12^th.

In the annual polling of the league's coaches, the reigning MAAC Champions were voted to repeat, receiving eight of nine first-place votes and earning 89 total points. UAlbany received one first-place vote and earned 79 total points, finishing second in the Preseason Poll.

Sacred Heart (71 points), Fairfield (60 points), and Merrimack (53 points) rounded out the top five in the poll.

Quinnipiac won last year's MAAC Championships and earned the conference's bid to the NCAA Tournament. Sophia Fujita finished as the Individual Champion, and four Bobcats finished in the top ten to claim the program's fourth MAAC title in five seasons.

The Bobcats will begin their spring season on February 21^st, as they begin play at the Space Coast Classic hosted by Columbia in Melbourne, Florida.
