Bobcats Defeat Merrimack to Advance to MAAC Championship Game

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – The Quinnipiac women's basketball team defeated the Merrimack Warriors in the MAAC Semifinals, 65-51, to advance to the MAAC Championship game against the Fairfield Stags. This will be the first time since 2018-19 that the Bobcats will play for a MAAC Championship.
Gal Raviv led the way for the Bobcats, scoring 23 points and shooting 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. Ella O'Donnell had another big game as she added 13 points on 50% (5-for-10) shooting. Anna Foley reached double figures for the 22nd time this season. Foley grabbed six rebounds, dished out three assists, recorded two blocks, and recorded two steals. Jackie Grisdale was 3-for-6 from three-point range as she scored 11 points in the win.
Merrimack came out of the gates, hitting their shots as they held a 12-6 lead at the first-quarter media timeout. The Bobcats wouldn't let the Warriors take control as they pushed back, making it a four-point game (18-14) at the end of the opening quarter.
Quinnipiac pushed their way in front as Gal Raviv capped off a 6-0 run on a steal and score at the media timeout. The Bobcats continued on their run, as they ended the half with a 33-25 lead. Quinnipiac outscored Merrimack 19-7 in the frame to take an eight-point lead into the locker room.
The Bobcats came out of the locker room and scored five straight points to open a 13-point lead, forcing Merrimack to take a timeout. The Warriors went on a run to close out the third quarter, making it a 44-38 ballgame with the Bobcats on top.
Ella O'Donnell completed the and-one to push Quinnipiac back in front by eleven at the final media timeout in the final quarter. Merrimack attempted to come back, but the Bobcats didn't allow the Warriors to get closer than nine as they finished off the semifinal win over Merrimack.
