Women's Basketball Claims a Share of MAAC Regular Season Title

Hamden, Conn. – The Quinnipiac Bobcats closed out the regular season in style, defeating the Canisius Golden Griffins, 75-37, on Senior Day to clinch at least a share of the 2025-2026 MAAC Regular Season Championship.
Along with the Bobcats clinching at least a share of the regular-season title, the Bobcats have clinched the number one seed for the 2026 Air Force Reserve MAAC Women's Basketball Championships in Atlantic City, New Jersey, at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall.
Jackie Grisdale led the Bobcats to their 24th win of the season, scoring 19 points on 6-for-13 shooting from the floor, while knocking down five threes in the win. Grisdale set a new program record for made threes in a career, passing Sam Guastella '15 (225 career threes). Sydney Ryan reached double figures in the win, dropping 11 points on 80% shooting from the field. Emma Lizotte scored ten points in the win, setting a new career high. Eight total Bobcats recorded points in the 38-point victory over the Golden Griffins.

Franka Wittenburg got the Golden Griffins on the board first, just 18 seconds into the game, but Quinnipiac responded with a 16-5 run to take a 16-7 lead into the media timeout. Out of the break, Quinnipiac closed out the final 3:30 on an 8-2 run as they held a 24-9 lead after the opening quarter of play.
The Bobcats continued to control the pace of play, coming out on a 9-3 scoring run to open the second quarter, expanding their lead to 33-12 halfway through the second quarter. Out of the timeout, the Bobcats were outscored 5-4 in the final 4:22 of the second quarter, but the Bobcats still held a twenty-point lead heading into the halftime break.
Quinnipiac exploded for 25 points in the third quarter as its lead ballooned to 32 heading into the final quarter. In the third quarter, the Bobcats shot 71.4% (10-for-14) from the field and 5-for-5 from three-point range to blow the game open.
In the final ten minutes, the Bobcats outscored the Golden Griffins 13-7 to put an exclamation point on their final home game of the regular season and clinched at least a share of the MAAC regular season title.
