Volleyball Earns 10th Straight Win, Sweep Saint Peter's

Hamden, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team kicked off their final home weekend of the regular season with a sweep of the Saint Peter's Peacocks on Friday night in Burt Kahn.
Quinnipiac got out to an early lead in the opening set as they led the Peacocks 7-1 as Saint Peter's called their first timeout. Out of the break, the Bobcats continued to dominate as they closed out the opening set on an 18-10 run to win the opening set 25-11.
Quinnipiac jumped out to a lead for the second straight set, leading 15-10 as Saint Peter's called the first timeout of the set. The Bobcats continued to hold their lead as they went on a 6-5 run to give them a 21-15 lead in the second set. After Saint Peter's called their final timeout of the set, the Bobcats got the points they needed to win the second set, 25-18.
Saint Peter's got off to a hot start in the third set as they led the Bobcats 9-4 as QU called a timeout. Quinnipiac scored five of the next six points out of the timeout to make it a one-point game, 10-9. After Saint Peter's called a timeout of their own, the Bobcats rallied to take a 19-15 lead in the third set. Quinnipiac closed out the match on a 6-4 run to sweep the Peacocks to kick off the weekend.

- Leilani-kai Giusta led the way for the Bobcats as she recorded 12 kills in the win. Giusta tied for the team lead with two service aces in the win.
- Elena Giacomini recorded 10 kills in the win, tied for the second most on the team.
- Ginevra Giovagnoni also recorded ten kills in the sweep, earning double-digit kills for the fourth straight match.
- Damla Gunes and Leilani-kai Giusta tied for the team lead with eight digs in the win.
- Gunes led the Bobcats with 35 assists, while four other Bobcats recorded at least one assist. Elena Giacomini and Asia Belli tied for second on the team with two assists each.
- Seven different Bobcats recorded a kill, and seven different Bobcats recorded at least one dig in the sweep over the Peacocks.
- Leilani-kai Giusta, Ginevra Giovagnoni, and Damla Gunes each recorded two service aces in the win.
- Milena Silva led the Bobcats with 2.0 total blocks.
- The Bobcats stretched their win streak to ten straight matches.
- With the win, the Bobcats improved to 13-2 in conference play and 16-11 overall.
