Cerbone Pots Opener, OT Winner in Wild Men's Ice Hockey Win Over Holy Cross
11/26/2025 10:46:00 PM | Men's Ice Hockey
HAMDEN, Conn. — Andon Cerbone started and finished the scoring on Wednesday night, as the No. 8 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program won a thrilling 7-6 contest over Holy Cross to extend its win streak to five games.
The Stamford, Conn., native scored on a tap-in to open the scoring before securing the overtime winner off a great play from Mason Marcellus along the wall, feeding the puck in front to be fired home by his classmate.
The Bobcats jumped ahead to a pair of three-goal deficits, flying out to 3-0 and 6-3 advantages but were punched back by the visiting Crusaders, who responded both times with three-goal runs of their own.
As part of his four-point night, Ethan Wyttenbach scored a pair of goals to make it 6-3 Bobcats past the halfway point of the third.
During the extra session, Matej Marinov made a great stop on Jack Stockfish to keep the game alive, setting the stage for the Cerbone overtime winner.
