Groenewold, Vidicek Lead No. 8 Quinnipiac to Comeback Victory over Stonehill
11/29/2025 7:04:00 PM | Men's Ice Hockey
HAMDEN, Conn. — Markus Vidicek scored a pair of goals, including the tying goal with 2:58 to go and Elliott Groenewold scored the winner 31 seconds later and the No. 8 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program squeaked past Stonehill, 3-2, at M&T Bank Arena on Saturday afternoon.
The win secured a five-win-in-five-game homestand for the Bobcats, knocking off the final two opponents in one-goal fashion.
After Vidicek's opener gave the Bobcats a 1-0 lead in the first, the game went scoreless until the 4:33 mark of the third, where Stonehill took the lead off a wing shot that snuck past the Bobcats' netminder.
An unfortunate deflection gave the Skyhawks the leads, as a Matej Marinov-saved shot went right to the blade of Charlie Leddy and into the back of the Quinnipiac net to put the visitors ahead.
It was Vidicek and Groenewold both with under three minutes to play, and that would be enough for the Bobcats to secure the win.
