HAMDEN, Conn. — The No. 8 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey programs will celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday week at M&T Bank Arena, welcoming a pair of non-conference foes to town.
Bill Riga and Holy Cross make their return trip to Hamden on Wednesday night for a 5 p.m., puck drop, then the post-Thanksgiving encounter with Stonehill is slated for 4 p.m. on Saturday.
BACKING THE BANK
- The Bobcats are off to another unbeaten start at M&T Bank Arena, going 4-0-2 on home ice in their first six outings with wins over Maine, Boston University, Clarkson and St. Lawrence.
- They have played the most home games this season (six) without a loss.
- Over the last five seasons, the Bobcats are first in scoring defense (1.6), third in scoring offense (4.2), second in wins (65) and first in losses (10) on home ice.
SIX-SEVEN
- Markus Vidicek, Jeremy Wilmer and Mason Marcellus are the current connections to the biggest social media trend around, currently sitting with six goals and seven assists on the season.
- They are three of five skaters that have 13 points or more this season, led by Ethan Wyttenbach's 16 and Chris Pelosi is one behind him with 15 on the season.
BEASTS VS. THE HOCKEY EAST
- Setting up another strong non-conference schedule, Quinnipiac is tough to beat again when taking on their regional non-conference rivals this season.
- After a dominant win over Boston University on Saturday, the Bobcats improved to 4-1-1 against the Hockey East this season and it was their third ranked win of the year. This comes after a season-opening win at Boston College and an undefeated weekend against then-No. 7 Maine in which the Bobcats tied the Black Bears, 4-4, before shutting them out 4-0 on Saturday night.
FIRST-YEAR PHENOMS
- Ethan Wyttenbach and Markus Vidicek are off to a hot start in the 2025-26 campaign, both reaching double-figure points in the first 14 games of the campaign.
- Wyttenbach sits currently tops on the team with 16 points, while Vidicek is three back with 13 points. They are tied for the national first-year teammate lead with 29 combined points. Joined by Antonin Verreault, they are the only trio of first-year teammates in the country with double-digit points.
- Wyttenbach and Vidicek were two of seven Bobcat first years in the last 15 years to record double figure points in their first 11 games. Sam Anas (15) tops the list, while Odeen Tufto (12), Chase Priskie (12), Landon Smith (11) and Matthew Peca (11) join the category.
LEDDY-ING THE WAY
- Charlie Leddy is on a historic pace to begin the 2025-26 campaign, racking up the highest plus-minus rating by a defenseman through 12 games in the Bobcats' Division I era.
- Leddy currently stands at a plus-14 rating through 13 games, which also leads the ECAC and is sixth nationally amongst defensemen and eighth amongst all NCAA skaters.
- His plus-12 through 13 games put him one ahead of Zach Metsa (+12), who hit the mark twice in 2021-22 and 2022-23 in the positional rankings. He's one behind Collin Graf for the overall lead, as Graf accumulated a +14 in his first 12 games of 2023-24.
