HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac Softball team is looking to continue its hot start, heading down to Virginia for spring break to participate in the Norfolk State Invitational and then playing a doubleheader against Hampton University.
The Norfolk State Invitational will be played from Sunday, March 10 to Tuesday, March 12, and then the doubleheader against Hampton University will be Wednesday, March 13.
The only game that will be streamed for the Norfolk State Invitational is QU versus Norfolk State, which will be streamed on their website. Both games of the doubleheader versus Hampton University will be streamed on FloSoftball.

SCOUTING UNLV
- UNLV is 11-8 with wins over Stephen F. Austin, Sam Houston, Bradley, Iowa State, Southern Utah, Santa Clara, CSUN, CSU Bakersfield, and San Diego.
- Maddie Schmidt leads UNLV in batting average at .407, she also has 9 RBIs.
- Ariana Martinez has driven in 24 RBIs for the Rebels.
- Alanna Thiede is 8-1 in the circle for UNLV with a 1.95 ERA and 44 strikeouts in 57.1 innings pitched.
- This is the first meeting between the two teams.
- Le Moyne is 1-10 with their lone win coming over St. Bonaventure.
- Audrey Benderski leads them in batting average at .438.
- Michaela Stockwell is 1-2 in the circle with nine strikeouts.

- Norfolk State is 1-16 with their lone win coming over Holy Cross.
- Rylie Gilbreath leads NSU in batting average at .340.
- Loren Hudson has driven in four runs for the Spartans.

- Head Coach Hillary Smith enters her sixth season with the Bobcats after being named the eighth coach in program history.
- Coach Smith has brought in eight new faces to the program and welcomed back one graduate student for fifth year.
- Assistant coach Mandie Perez enters her third season with the Bobcats.
- Perez helped Smith see the Bobcats earn one All-MAAC honor in the 2023 season.
