2/3/2024 10:37:00 PM | Women's Indoor Track & Field
NEW YORK — Sophomore pole vaulter Erin Brennan re-set her own school pole vault record on Friday night, marking at 3.55m to highlight the Quinnipiac University women's indoor track and field team at the Scarlet Knight Open at The Armory this weekend.
The Wallingford, Conn., native hit on her second attempt at the height, besting her old program mark set last spring during the outdoor season.
Brennan's performance was one of nine personal-bests set by the Bobcats over the two day meet, the second-to-last before MAAC Championships at the same venue at the end of the month.
Highlighted in that group was sprinter Nyasia Dailey, who went 7.61 in the 60m prelims and finals, good for a third place finish and the fastest sprint in the MAAC by 0.18 seconds.
Quinnipiac also recorded nine-season best performances and had two others crack the Top 10 in their respective events, with Olaitan Olagundoye marking 5.13m in the long jump and the Bobcats' 4x400 relay team of Rylie Smith, Sydney Lavelle, Michelle Tota and Elise Barricelli clocking in at 3:57.38, good for fifth in the meet.
PROGRAM TOP 10s
- Dailey's time gets her closer to Jessica Lee's program record in the 60m, as she sits 0.09 off in second place on the charts.
- Brennan furthers her distance atop the Pole Vault rankings, 0.15m ahead of teammate Olivia DeBellis.
UP NEXT
The Bobcats have a split weekend coming up, with BU's Valentine Invitational on Friday and Yale's Giegengack Invite on Saturday. This will be the last weekend competing before the conference championship meet, Feb. 24 and 25 at The Armory in New York.
