Indoor Track and Field Wraps Up Pre-Championships Competition

Quinnipiac competed at Valentine, Giegengack Invites This Weekend
NEW HAVEN — The Quinnipiac University women's track and field program wrapped up its final pre-championship meets over the weekend, competing at BU's Valentine Invitational and Yale's Giegengack Invite on Friday and Saturday this weekend.
The Bobcats sent their 200m runners to Boston, where Rylie Smith led the eight Quinnipiac runners with a 25.27 finish time. That was good for 39th in the event. Michelle Tota (25.62) and Sydney Lavelle (25.67) were the next two fastest Bobcats.
At Yale on Saturday, Quinnipiac claimed a trio of victories in the 4x400 relay, mile and the 3k to culminate their pre-MAACs schedule up the road. Smith combined with Izzie Anzaldo, Sydney Lavelle and Elise Barricelli to clock in at an ECAC-cut time of 3:54.09 to take the relay.
Liv DiStefano claimed victory in the 3k race, finishing in an ECAC-cut time of 9:55.38 while Rachel St. Germain and Alessandra Zaffina finished 1-2 in the mile.
TOP 10 PERFORMANCES
The MAAC Championships await at The Armory in New York City, the weekend of Feb. 24-25. The Bobcats finished 14 points behind defending champions Rider at the 2023 edition and return the MAAC Field Rookie of the Meet in Erin Brennan.

- Nyasia Dailey inched closer to the program record in the 60m, finishing today's prelim run in 7.58, a new personal best. She's 0.06 off Jessica Lee's program record, set in 2018.
- Camille Blain and Alana Martin ran new collegiate bests in the 60m hurdles, clocking in at 9.34 and 9.44, respectively. Those times are good for eighth and ninth in program history.
- St. Germain (4:49.20) and Zaffina's (4:52.97) times enter the program charts at No. 3 and 5 in history.
