FANTASTIC FIRST YEARS
- The first-year forward tandem of Tyler Borgula and Aaron Schwartz has gotten off to a hot start for the Bobcats, with each of them tallying five goals in the first 10 games of their collegiate careers.
- Schwartz scored in both games over the weekend and joined his classmate as the only first-year tandem in the country to have five goals apiece. They are three back of fellow-ECAC skater Ben Muthersbaugh for the national lead amongst first year players.
CAPTAIN TRAV
- Grad student and captain Travis Treloar has started his league campaign strong, tallying five points in four ECAC contests to start his final conference season. He had a hot weekend, finishing it with a career-best three assists against Yale on Nov. 16.
- He was the first Bobcat this season to record three assists in a game and bested his previous college-high of two that he recorded five times over his time in Hamden and at Ohio State.
MR. 1100
- November 2 was Rand Pecknold's 1100th game behind the bench for the Bobcats as they take on Holy Cross. In his 31st season with the squad, he has amassed 644 wins, the most by any active Division I coach in the country.
- He will be one of four active coaches, joining Rick Gotkin, Frank Serratore and Bob Daniels, and one of 14 coaches all-time to reach the mark.
E-G MONEY
- First-year defender and Boston Bruins draft pick Elliott Groenewold has showed off his 200-foot game to start his collegiate career, leading the team in both blocks and game-winning goals through the first 10 contests.
- He has blocked a team-best 17 shots while also providing a pair of game-deciding tallies, scoring winners at Holy Cross on Nov. 2 and, most recently, at Brown on Nov. 15.
WHERE THERE'S A WILM... THERE'S A WAY
- Jeremy Wilmer started his Bobcat career with a multi-goal outing against Penn State, scoring the first and third goals of the night in a 3-2 victory on Oct. 12.
- He also stands as one of the nation's most prolific passers, averaging 0.72 assists per game over his 82 games played. That mark is fourth nationally amongst all active Division I players.
THROUGH THE RICKETTS
- Grad student Jack Ricketts brings clutch goalscoring talent to the Bobcats for his final year of college hockey, currently with nine game-winning goals to his name.
- He also entered the year as the nation's leading active Division I goalscorer, currently with 49.
