Women's Lacrosse Clinches Home Playoff Game with Win at Mount

EMMITSBURG, Md. — The Quinnipiac University women's lacrosse team will host the MAAC Quarterfinals, earning home field with its 5-4 win over Mount St. Mary's on Saturday afternoon.
After six minutes were played after the initial 1:00 start time and a 1-0 Bobcat advantage thanks to Mia Delmond, the game was delayed due to lightning for close to three hours, as the game resumed at 5 p.m. Eastern.
The Bobcat defense forced 21 Mount St. Mary's and nine failed clears, as Kat Henselder made a game-clinching save with 11 seconds remaining to earn the victory.
Quinnipiac had five different goalscorers, with the game winner coming with 23 seconds left in the third as Sophia Iaccino potted the fifth goal of the night of an assist from Desiree Kleberg.
The netminder Henselder made 12 saves on 16 Mount shots on goal.

- The Bobcats will host their first MAAC playoff game in program history on Sunday afternoon after Saturday's win.
- Mount's five total points on the day are tied for the fewest by Quinnipiac opposition.
- Quinnipiac ends the regular season on a three-game winning streak, tied with Niagara for the longest in the league.
- Kleberg recorded her third consecutive, multi-point game to end the regular season. She has 10 over her final three games.
