Bobcats Set 4x1500 Relay Record to Finish Off Colonial Relays

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — The relays took center stage on Saturday at the Colonial Relays, as the 4x1500 squad for Quinnipiac broke the school record, and the 4x200 and Sprint Medley tandems paced themselves to second on the program's all-time list as the action wrapped at William & Mary University.
All three relay teams earned a fourth-place finish in the meet.
Liv DiStefano, Cassidy Phillips, Rachel St. Germain and Alessandra Zaffina combined to finish in 19:08.38, besting the previous school record by 45 seconds to highlight the day's action.
Eight more runners also combined for great relay performances on the track, with the Bobcats' all-freshman Sprint Medley team of Elise Barricelli, Michelle Tota, Emma Byrne and Sophia Jones clocked in the relay in 4:15.70.
Quinnipiac's 4x200 performance consisted of Sydney Lavelle, Rylie Smith, Izzie Anzaldo and Alyssa Romagnoli, finishing in 1:42.26 en route to a fourth-place finish.
NOTES
The Bobcats head north next weekend, taking part in the UMass Invite in the first of three regional meets on the schedule. The action is set for Saturday in Amherst.

- Romagnoli was also part of the program's record-setting effort in 2022 at Colonial Relays, helping the squad finish in 1:38.73 to set the school mark.
- The Bobcats' SMR performance is the best in seven years, with the school record of 4:01.12 being set in 2016.
- Overall, Quinnipiac finished with seven performances that ended up on the Top 10 list and set two new program marks: the overall 4x1500 relay record and the outdoor pole vault record.
