Gray Sets New School Record, Bobcats Have Strong Start to Outdoor Season

HAMDEN, Conn. — Select Quinnipiac University women's track and field athletes traveled to NC State to open the outdoor campaign, competing in the 2026 Raleigh Relays over the weekend. Another team contingent ran at Bryant University in the Jaylin Rainford Invite in Smithfield, R.I.
Highlighting the action was senior Sierra Gray, who became the first Bobcat in history to break the 35:00 mark in the 10k race to break the program record. Sprinter Nyasia Dailey came within 0.02 of her school mark, sprinting to a 11.68 mark in the 100m.
Overall in Raleigh, the Bobcats recorded eight top 10 performances to open the 2026 outdoor campaign.
In Smithfield, Gabrielle Appiah highlighted the action from the field, throwing a 12.32m mark in the Shot Put which puts her second all-time in her first outdoor meet.

TOP 10 PERFORMANCES
- Gray bested the 10000m record by 27 seconds, previously held by Liv DiStefano from April 2024.
- Kiera Baxter hopped up to seventh all-time in the 100m, finishing the race in 12.22.
- Izzie Anzaldo turned in top 10 performances in both the 200m and 400m races. Her 24.45m in the 200m places her third on the all-time program chart, while the 400m sprint of 55.07 puts her in fourth.
- Weronika Lewna hopped into the top 10 in the 1500m, finishing the race in 4:33.90 to position herself fourth in program history.
- Emma Byrne finished the 400m hurdles in a time of 1:04.17, which put her into the top five in program history.
- Kayleanne Campbell and Zoe Santos both marked 1.57m in the high jump, slotting themselves into a tie for seventh all-time.
- Sabra Dewar hit 10.82m in her third attempt in the triple jump, which puts her into the top 10 at tenth.
- Gabrielle Appiah threw the second-longest mark in program history in the shot put, hitting 12.32m. She is 1.43m short of Mikah Maples' program record, set in May 2022.
