Brennan Re-Sets Pole Vault Record, Five Track Runs Qualify for Sunday Finals at ECACs

BOSTON — Erin Brennan raised her pole vault school record on Saturday afternoon at Day 1 of the ECAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, highlighting a Quinnipiac performance that saw five qualifications for Sunday finals on the track, three Top 10 finishes in field events and four program Top 10 performances.
Brennan vaulted to a 3.51m mark on her last run, besting her previous school record and finishing seventh in the event. She finished the highest of the Bobcats' field performers, leading three inside the Top 10 for the day.
Olaitan Olagundoye jumped 1.60m in the high jump, good for eighth, and Camille Sweet hit 5.43m in the long jump, finishing ninth.
Rylie Smith, Alessandra Zaffina and Liv DiStefano all qualified for tomorrow's finals in their respective events. Smith finished seventh in the 400m prelims with a time of 55.85, while Zaffina and DiStefano qualified in the mile with times of 4:53.14 and 4:54.54, respectively.
Both of Quinnipiac's relay squads are also in to the finals on Sunday, with Smith joining Sydney Lavelle, Izzie Anzaldo and Alyssa Romagnoli in the 4x400 final. Christina Gunsalus, Tess Bossdorf, Sophia Jones and Rachel St. Germain finished ninth in the 4x800 prelims to qualify for tomorrow as well.
NOTES
Tomorrow's schedule of events features all of the finals from the prelims ran today, as well as the Distance Medley Relay, Shot Put and Triple Jump finals for the Bobcats.
Action is slated to being with the women's triple jump at 10 a.m.

NOTES
- For the second consecutive meet, Brennan extended her school record in the pole vault. She hit 3.46m at the MAAC Championships before her 3.51m today.
- The Bobcats' 4x400 relay run of 3:50.20 is the fifth-fastest in program history and the fastest run since March 8, 2020 when the school record of 3:46.57 was clocked.
- Zaffina and DiStefano stand fourth and eighth on the program's mile top 10 performance list after this afternoon.
