
Bobcats Pre-Championship Schedule Culminates with Valentine, Giegengack Invites

HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac University women's indoor track and field team rounded out its pre-championship schedule on Friday and Saturday, bringing its 200m runners to the David Hemery Valentine Invite at Boston University, while the rest of the squad competed at the 2023 Giegengack Invitational held by Yale on Saturday.
Friday in Boston, a pair of Bobcats placed themselves inside the top four in the league in the 200 ahead of Saturday and Sunday's Championships, as Rylie Smith (24.89) and Alyssa Romagnoli (25.35) led Quinnipiac in the event. Smith has the second-fastest time, while Romagnoli stands two lines below in fourth.
Saturday in New Haven, three Bobcats took home victories, highlighted by the first collegiate event wins for first years Isabella Anzaldo and Jada Dennis. Anzaldo led three Bobcats in the top five in the 400m, finishing in 59.17 seconds. Dennis led a 1-2-3-4 Bobcat finish in the 800m, clocking in at 2:22.34.
Overall on the weekend, Quinnipiac recorded five times inside the program's Top 10 list and four inside the MAAC Top 5.

The Bobcats head to New York for the two-day MAAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, held once again at the New Balance Track and Field Center at The Armory. Both days are slated to begin at 5 p.m., and live updates can be seen on social media @QU_TFXC and @MAACSports.
