Duo Earn Regional Accolades from New England Hockey Writers Association
HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac goaltender Yaniv Perets and defenseman Zach Metsa were named 2021-22 New England Division I Men's All-Stars by the New England Hockey Writers Association earlier this week.
Perets was the ECAC Hockey Goalie and Player of the Year, along with First Team All-League honors and Hobey Baker Top Ten Finalist recognition. The Dollard-des-Ormeaux native broke the NCAA single-season record for goals against average and was within striking distance of the save percentage and individual shutout records at the end of the regular season.
Metsa, who has announced that he will return in 2022-23 for a fifth year, also earned First Team All-ECAC Hockey honors and was named the league's Best Defensive Defenseman. He finished the season as the nation's leader in plus/minus at +38.
