
Bobcats Walk Off Against Hartford at Home in Extras, 9-8

With the win the Bobcats improved to 7-19 on the season, while the Hawks fell to 4-21 on the campaign with the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bobcats struck first in the first after Danny Melnick drilled a two-out double to left, followed by an Ian Ostberg single to right to plate Melnick to give QU a 1-0 lead. However, the Hawks responded with two runs of their own in the second inning and two in the third to take a 4-1 lead.
QU responded with the fourth inning after Melnick led the frame off with a double to right, then two batters later Sam LaChance lined an RBI single up the middle to trim the deficit to 4-2.
Quinnipiac knotted the contest at 4-4 in the fifth after Ian Ostberg stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and lined a two-run double to center to tie the contest. Sam LaChance followed and after an error in the field, two runs came in to score to give Quinnipiac a 6-4 lead.
Michael Kohn gave the Bobcats an insurance run with a solo homer to right in the sixth, extending Quinnipiac's lead to 7-4.
With Quinnipiac leading 8-5 in the eighth, Hartford rallied for three runs to knot the contest at 8-8. Neither side was able to score a run in the ninth, leading to extra innings. However in the bottom of the 11th with the bases loaded, Hartford committed an error in the field, allowing QU to win it 9-8.

- Gabriel Romano (0-0) got the start and took the no-decision after allowing two unearned runs in 2.0 innings of work
- Carter Poiry (0-1) also took a no-decision after allowing two unearned runs in 4.0 innings of work
- Poiry struck out three in the outing
- Anthony Ambrosino (1-0) got the win after tossing two scoreless innings in relief
- The Bobcats will be back in action on Thursday, April 14 when they continue their MAAC slate when QU plays host to Monmouth for a three-game series
